Should I send you a data disc with audio files as my master?

Only if that is what you want your duplicates to be. We make an exact copy of your master disc so it should be exactly what you want the copies to be. If you want an audio CD that will play back in a standard CD player then you should send us an audio master. If you want a data disc that is readable in a computer then that is what you should send us. We recommend that you check the master before sending it to us. For example, if it is an audio CD we recommend that you listen to the actual master you are sending us all the way through. Any pops, clicks and other defects that are on the master will duplicate on to the copies.

Can you do larger quantity orders? 1000 discs? 2000 discs?

We can do as many discs as may be needed for any given project. There are two ways to make copies, replication and duplication. We offer both replication and duplication services. Replication can offer better prices at higher quantities than duplication can. Replication uses a totally automated process where duplication is more hands on. Our minimum order for replication is 1000 discs. Our minimum order for duplication is only 50 discs. Duplication orders can be ready with our standard turn time in 3-5 days (plus transit time) and we offer rush services of 1 or 2 days. Replication takes roughly 2 weeks to complete your order (plus transit time). If you need a large quantity of CDs and you need them in a hurry then our duplication service is still a great option. If you are not concerned about the time before the product is ready then large quantity jobs will be priced better with replication.

What is the capacity of a Mini or Biz-Card CD?

The capacity of the Mini CD is 180 MB. The Biz-Card variety will hold a total of 50 MB.

What type of imprint goes on my CD or DVD?

There are four options when it comes to the type of imprint you would like on the face of your CD or DVD. The first option is what we call our Monochrome Imprint. The monochrome print can be in either black, blue, or red, and works great with text and line graphics or simple logos. The imprint is done on a silver disk and gives a very professional look to your project. It is waterproof and permanent. The next option we can offer is a full color label. This label is printed on a high-end printer and allows you to add full color to a project that is on a tighter budget. Our third and fourth options are done on our Everest Printer. The Everest Printer allows us to put 600 dpi photo quality color or black and white directly on to your disk. The results are amazing and give a better than silk screened quality to your project. They are completely waterproof and have a nice glossy sheen to them. They compare with a full color offset type print that you see on a lot of Hollywood movie releases.

Do you use "DVD Cases"?

Yes, we use Amaray style (DVD) Cases on all of our standard DVD orders. You can also choose to have the disc placed in a standard CD jewel case. All of the options for DVD cases are available from our instant quote wizard. If you have any questions about specialty cases or items not listed on our site please give us a call and we can probably come up with a solution for your specific need.

Do Duplicated (CD-R and DVD-R) discs work in all standard players?

CD-Rs & DVD-Rs work in almost all players without any problem. There is, however, the risk that certain players, especially older players, may have a hard time reading a disc correctly. The type of compatability problems range from the player not seeing the disc at all, to the player having a hard time skipping from scene to scene. The number of players that reject these discs is always declining, but we want you to be aware of the possibility of certain players not reading the disc correctly. Often when someone calls and thinks the disc is defective it actually is not. It is the player they are using that is giving them difficulty. We stand behind our discs and will replace them if they are defective but if they play in most players, they are not considered defective.

Do you use DVD-R or DVD+R discs for duplication?

We can actually duplicate either disc but we stock DVD-R discs as standard. We have found them to be more compatible across the board with more players. Your master can be either, as our system will do the conversion from either format to either format.

What in the world is a panel?

In CD lingo, panel refers to each individual page or square area of your cover. For example a single panel cover is a single piece of paper that is not folded, and is printed on only one side of the sheet. It is blank on the inside panel. A two panel cover is that same sheet of paper with printing on both sides of the paper so that when you open the case you see one page of additional information that you can't see from the outside. A 4 panel cover is a folded sheet of paper making a booklet. When the paper is closed you see panel number 1 which is the front cover of the package. When you open the booklet you see panels number 2 and 3, or the two inside panels. When you close the booklet you see panel number 4. Don't confuse this with the tray card, which is a separate sheet of paper that goes underneath the tray that holds the CD. It is the back of the package. We also offer 6 panel inserts which are also known as two fold inserts, and 8 panel inserts which is (2) 4 panel inserts saddle stapled together.

Is the quality of CD Duplication the same as CD Replication?

Yes it is! As far as the sound quality of the finished copy, it will be the same as your master! CD-R technology has rapidly developed into a huge market over the last decade. It has brought CD duplication down to reasonable prices for short run or small quantity jobs. Before duplication, you didn't have a choice but to usually do a minimum of 1000 discs. The only real difference is compatibility. Duplicated discs (CD-R & DVD-R) are not 100% compatible with all players. A very small percentage of players (especially older players) will have trouble reading duplicated discs. It is a small trade-off for the ability to do short runs of your project.
